Senior Power BI Developer Location:
Remote (USA) Pay Range:
$50/hr. - $53/hr.
What’s the Job?
Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
Model and transform data using Power BI Desktop: DAX, calculated columns/measures, and Power Query/M for ETL.
Perform SQL-based data querying, profiling, reconciliation, and use Azure Data Factory (ADF) to pull data from multiple sources.
Optimize report performance through model size control, relationship/filter direction management, VertiPaq fundamentals, and DAX Studio/Performance Analyzer usage.
Implement security and governance practices, including Row‑Level Security (RLS), sensitivity labels, dataset permissions, and compliance with data privacy standards.
What’s Needed?
Power BI Desktop proficiency: 8–10 years of experience with star schema modeling, DAX, calculated columns/measures, and Power Query/M for ETL.
Data Querying & ETL: 8–10 years of experience with SQL (joins, window functions, CTEs), data profiling/reconciliation, and Azure Data Factory.
Visualization & UX Design: 8–10 years of experience designing reports with bookmarks, drill‑through, tooltips, field parameters, and accessibility best practices.
Strong knowledge of Power BI Service, including workspaces, app publishing, scheduled refresh, and gateway administration.
Experience in testing & documentation, including measure naming conventions, calculation validation, changelogs, and user guides.
