Duties, Responsibilities & Other Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Project Manager leads highly complex projects or multi‑project programs, providing strategic oversight and direction. The role coordinates across numerous stakeholders, balances competing demands, and drives projects to successful completion. With an expert grasp of project dynamics, this role requires strong leadership, deep organizational acumen, and the ability to navigate high‑stakes projects from inception through delivery.

Project Management Leadership and Execution:

Manage all aspects of the project, including technical staff, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely and successful completion.

Develop and communicate the Project Management Plan outlining objectives, scope, schedule, budget, quality standards and safety protocols.

Effectively manage scope, schedule and budget, implementing cost‑control measures and ensuring alignment with client expectations.

Maintain high‑quality standards throughout execution, overseeing quality assurance processes and adherence to industry standards.

Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to drive project success and foster a collaborative environment.

Training, Development, and Compliance:

Provide training to engineers on PLS‑CADD, MFAD and other technical tools.

Mentor Project Managers and Engineers at lower levels, assisting in their training and development.

Comply with all KCI policies and procedures and ensure projects fulfill Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.

Develop project‑specific safety plans and implement project safety plans to ensure compliance with all applicable safety rules and regulations.

Financial Management and Reporting:

Negotiate contract terms, scope and fees with clients and subconsultants.

Develop accurate project cost estimates for client proposal submittals.

Maintain budgetary discipline, ensuring projects remain within budgetary constraints while achieving utilization targets.

Prepare monthly project completion reports and financial statements for Finance and Operations.

Identify and implement ways to improve efficiency and reduce project costs.

Business Development and Marketing:

Participate in project opportunity evaluations, consultant selections and preparation of qualification/experience statements.

Identify new business opportunities, coordinate and participate in project presentations to clients.

Assist with project closeout and marketing materials, including photos and project write‑ups.

Maintain involvement in at least one industry or community organization.

Project Execution and Technical Oversight:

Fully manage all required project management and technical deliverables in contract scope of work.

Compare field data to design plans and conduct site visits to gather data.

Prepare all phases of designs and deliverables for approval.

Read and interpret technical documents required for project execution.

Make determinations on issues or challenges during project implementation or development.

Qualifications Education and/or Skills Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 6 years of related professional experience, or 10 years of equivalent professional experience.

Track record of expanding project management duties.

Proven experience in project management roles, focusing on larger‑scale projects or programs.

Strong organizational and time‑management skills and ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, interacting effectively with clients, team members and stakeholders.

Proficiency in project management software and tools and ability to develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and documentation.

Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to project management, quality assurance and safety protocols.

Effective problem‑solving skills and ability to identify issues and implement solutions in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong negotiation skills to manage contracts, scope changes and stakeholder agreements.

Strong understanding of accounting principles to effectively manage project budgets, financial reporting and resource allocation.

Education and/or Work Experience Preferred:

Master’s Degree in a related field (AEC Industry).

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations Required:

Completion of the KCI PM Training and Contract Risk Training and passing the PM Board within 6 months of start date.
