IT Project Manager – SAP S/4HANA ERP Implementation
Duration 12–15 Months
Pay Range $120 to $135/hr
Location San Diego, CA and Parsippany, NJ
Hybrid Role 5 days a week, at least 3 days onsite in both NJ and SD (La Jolla, CA)
Schedule Notes Onsite 3 days per week either in the Parsippany, NJ office or in the San Diego Manufacturing site (La Jolla, CA). Total days per week: 5.
Key Skillsets
Number of SAP S/4HANA ERP Private Cloud (RISE) implementations managed
Experience implementing SAP ERP for a mid‑size life‑sciences pharma firm(s)
Experience managing external vendor ERP System Implementation (SI) teams
Willingness to work onsite 3+ days per week, either in La Jolla, CA or Parsippany, NJ or both
Project Overview Lead a 12–15-month SAP S/4HANA ERP implementation, focused on Finance, Supply Chain Management, and enterprise system integrations. Drive execution from planning through go‑live, ensuring the solution meets technical and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
ERP Program Leadership
– Lead the full project lifecycle of the SAP S/4HANA implementation, focusing on core functional areas including Finance and Supply Chain Management; manage scope, schedules, and budgets across business and IT stakeholders; coordinate internal teams, external SAP consultants, and integration partners.
Integration Management
– Plan, design, and implement integrations between SAP S/4HANA and surrounding systems (CRM, MES, WMS, legacy platforms); collaborate with architects and technical teams on integration requirements, data flows, and performance standards; oversee integration testing, issue resolution, and cutover readiness.
Execution & Oversight
– Maintain project documentation, including plans, risk logs, decision registers, and status reports; facilitate resolution of cross‑functional issues and elevate risks.
Change & Communication
– Support change management, stakeholder engagement, training; lead communication plans for executives and key users; oversee cutover planning, go‑live support, and transition to operational teams.
Required Qualifications
6+ years of IT project management, including 2–3 full‑lifecycle SAP ERP Private Cloud implementations.
Hands‑on experience in Finance modules, Supply Chain Management (procurement, inventory, production planning, order fulfillment), and integrations between SAP and enterprise applications.
Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams in high‑complexity environments.
Strong knowledge of SAP Activate or equivalent implementation methodology.
Excellent stakeholder communication, vendor coordination, and executive reporting skills.
Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet).
Preferred Qualifications
PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum certification.
SAP S/4HANA certifications or expertise in SAP FI, MM, SD, or PP modules.
Experience with integration platforms such as SAP BTP, SAP CPI, or Informatica.
Prior experience in regulated or manufacturing industries (life sciences, pharma).
Travel: some travel required.
