Voice Over Internet Protocol Network Engineer
to join our team. The selected candidate will support different agencies in the federal government. This is a strategically important position that will have a large impact on an already successful organization.
To be considered for this position, US Citizenship and an active Secret security clearance is required. This is a funded position and is contingent upon verification of a security clearance prior to starting with Cloudshape. Key Responsibilities
Design, configure, and maintain
VoIP infrastructure , including call managers, gateways, SIP trunks, and IP phones. Administer and support
enterprise-level VoIP systems
(e.g., Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Avaya, Mitel, Asterisk, or Microsoft Teams Voice). Optimize
LAN/WAN
performance to ensure high call quality, reliability, and redundancy. Implement and monitor
QoS (Quality of Service)
policies to prioritize voice and video traffic. Perform
troubleshooting
for VoIP call quality, dropped connections, and network-related voice issues. Manage and maintain
VoIP-related DNS, DHCP, and VLAN configurations . Monitor VoIP performance using tools such as
Wireshark, SolarWinds, or PRTG . Configure and support
SIP, RTP, and SCCP protocols , ensuring proper registration and call routing. Coordinate with ISPs, vendors, and carriers to resolve connectivity and call-routing problems. Ensure
VoIP network security
through encryption, access control, and firewall configurations. Document network and VoIP architectures, configurations, and procedures. Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and assist with VoIP-related user issues. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (e.g., EE, CPE, MIS, IT) or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree. 3+ years of experience. Excellent Customer Service skills. Strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities along with horizontal integration skills. US Citizen with an active Secret security clearance. Benefits
