Pay Range Base pay range: $29.00/hr – $33.00/hr.
Responsibilities
Perform calibration and preventive maintenance (PM) on basic industrial weighing equipment (floor and bench scales) without assistance.
Assist others on installations, projects and repairs as necessary.
Perform basic end‑user training.
Perform calibrations and preventive maintenance duties according to METTLER TOLEDO procedures and customer requirements.
Assist and cooperate with Scheduling Analyst and Service Support Team as necessary.
Proactively promote and sell service and products; submit sales leads at a level commensurate with experience.
Maintain inventory levels as assigned by SBU; maintain appropriate accuracy and control over stocked items.
Ensure compliance with all company and customer safety and quality policies and procedures.
Work to ensure customer uptime requirements are met and that all work assignments are completed on time.
Accurately complete and submit all required paperwork on a daily basis as required via company‑issued Laptop PC in a professional manner.
Maintain a close professional relationship with external/internal customers, sales, technicians and other leaders.
Complete Kronos time keeping on a daily basis and insure punches are entered for each activity as they occur.
Work to ensure an atmosphere of collaboration and teamwork with field and service support colleagues.
Must comply with the Company Fleet policy.
Accurately submit Weights & Measures paperwork to state/county in a timely manner.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A valid driver’s license.
Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED, or 5 years relevant experience and aptitude in Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Technology or Computer Science.
Associate’s degree (AA) with a technical major preferred.
Customer‑facing or field service experience preferred; commercial experience desired.
Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical repair philosophies, including basic understanding of PC networking & software configuration.
1–3 years electro‑mechanical repair or weighing industry experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL and Weights and Measures license; loss or failure to obtain may result in termination.
Demonstrated skill in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Capability of learning proprietary software and reviewing and updating information using METTLER TOLEDO programs.
Willingness to travel overnight (up to 10% on average; up to 25% as needed) and by plane when required.
Residence within the service territory.
Ability to work overtime in the range of 10‑15% on average; may be up to 25% in a given period.
Willingness to be exposed to hazards (chemicals, solvents, vehicle traffic, machinery, moving parts; dust, dirt, cold work environments, fumes).
Willingness to wear special protective equipment and clothing when required.
Position is safety‑sensitive and subject to drug testing and DOT physical exam.
Physical requirements include frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and frequent movements such as crouching, stooping, kneeling, and repeated bending.
