We are looking for a Rotating Machinery Equipment engineer with at least 8 years post graduation experience (client stipulated) in a plant environment. Candidates will be involved in all phases of maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and replacement of rotating equipment.

Overview Role: Rotating Machinery Equipment engineer with extensive experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and support for rotating equipment in a plant setting.

Responsibilities

Support the Area in achieving safety, reliability, efficiency, compliance, cost management and customer service outcomes.

Provide technical, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for all production facilities within the area, including ASU, CO2, H2, and He, regarding mechanical equipment and rotating machinery (compressors, pumps, fans, turbines, blowers, gearboxes, and their auxiliary systems).

Provide technical assistance for operations, including direct support and troubleshooting on machinery issues within the area.

Collaborate with Area Controls engineers, Electrical engineers, Planning engineers, and National Rotating Machinery Engineers on initiatives or projects.

Review and approve mechanical and machinery PMs, work instructions, and related procedures; provide feedback and recommendations for changes as necessary.

Review the quality and completeness of mechanical equipment and machinery PM execution at assigned plant locations; provide technical support with planning and execution.

Ensure implementation of Standard PM content for area rotating equipment.

Routinely review mechanical condition-based vendor data reports and provide repair plans for any deficiencies to ensure reliable operation (e.g., vibration monitoring, oil analysis, thermography).

Lead troubleshooting and repair of critical failed mechanical equipment, including MOC guidance, outage decision making, repair planning, and root cause analysis; use OEMs as needed and share lessons learned.

Utilize standardized turnaround work scope templates to develop detailed machinery work scopes, budgets, contractor management plans, execution strategies, and quality plans for turnarounds and major maintenance.

Provide in-field support for major maintenance execution of machinery scope, with quality plans and timely closeout reports that capture lessons learned for continuous improvement.

Develop multi-discipline knowledge related to rotating machinery applications and contribute to Area Maintenance Strategy through machinery scope development for major maintenance planning and execution.

Manage and provide technical support to mechanical contractors to ensure accurate scope completion, proper documentation updates, and standards compliance.

Keep machinery aspects of the major maintenance plan updated for assigned plant locations’ functionality in industrial gas plants.

Ensure equipment is fit for purpose through maintenance planning and execution, scope/spares decisions, design reviews, HAZOP, MOC, installation, and commissioning processes.

Complete area machinery technical reviews of MOCs and provide supplemental engineering data, drawings, and analysis as necessary.

Monitor history and condition of rotating equipment to determine and prioritize major maintenance scopes; provide business case justifications to support budgeting and timing for assigned locations.

Represent Area mechanical reliability interests in machinery-related aspects through participation in proposals and commercialization processes.

Provide machinery execution support to the Projects Execution Team for major capital projects and new plant installations within the area.

Participate in reliability audits and Equipment Condition Assessments; agree on actions with Site, Area Ops, and Area Reliability Team.

Provide input and decision making on repair or refurbishment of major spare parts.

Work with Area Planners and Procurement to identify machinery contractors and vendors.

Qualifications

Demonstrated exceptional operational safety leadership

Self-started and self-directed with ability to manage multiple activities

Demonstrated ability to follow through to completion on projects and issues

Demonstrated ability to work cohesively in a team environment or independently as required

Good technical and communication skills with solid interpersonal skills

Knowledgeable and experienced with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of compressors, pumps, fans, turbines, blowers, gearboxes, and their auxiliary systems

Knowledge of predictive maintenance methodologies and data interpretation (vibration monitoring, oil analysis, thermography, etc.)

Knowledge and experience working with and troubleshooting high-speed rotating machinery

General understanding of regulatory and industry standards and codes

Air Separation experience and knowledge is a plus

Basic Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required

7 years of experience with at least 5 years in an operational and engineering environment working with mechanical equipment & rotating machinery

Ability to travel 30-40%
