Schedule
Monday through Thursday 8am-5pm | Friday 8am-12pm
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care & Comfort: Welcome and prepare patients for treatments or check‑ups, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns.
- Assist with Procedures: Set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed for dental procedures and assist the dentist through 4‑handed dentistry.
- Instrument Sterilization & Safety: Follow proper sterilization procedures and ensure all dental instruments are sanitized in compliance with health regulations.
- Lab Tasks & Post‑Operative Care: Assist with lab tasks as directed and provide patients with post‑operative care instructions.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records, assisting with patient charts, treatment documentation, and payment procedures.
- Scheduling & Office Support: Assist in scheduling patient appointments and keeping the dental room clean, organized, and well‑stocked.
- Regulated Tasks: Perform non‑surgical tasks such as coronal polishing, if certified, and assist with other regulated tasks as allowed by local regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of dental assisting experience in a clinical setting.
- Certification: Dental Assistant Certification (CDA or RDA) required; additional certifications such as EFDA or radiology certifications are a plus.
- Skills & Knowledge: In‑depth knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization methods, and infection control protocols; familiarity with dental procedures and treatments; understanding of health and safety regulations in a dental office; experience with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) highly preferred.
- Clinical Competence: Ability to perform regulated non‑surgical tasks, such as coronal polishing, and assist with other dental procedures.
- Communication & Patient Care: Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively interact with patients, providing clear instructions and ensuring their comfort.
- Organization & Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Team‑Oriented: Ability to work effectively in a team environment while providing high‑quality patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional Certifications: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), Radiology Certification, or Dental Hygiene Assistant certification.
- Language Skills: Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) a plus but not required.
