Legal Secretary – Dallas, TX

Wilson Elser is a leading defense litigation law firm with more than 1,300 attorneys nationwide. We are committed to teamwork, collaboration, client service, and innovation. Our Legal Secretary position is located in our Dallas office and offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and send routine correspondence
  • Prepare legal filings (format, proofread, redact, rename, PDF)
  • E‑file court filings in various State and Federal courts
  • Open new matters and process closing matters
  • Document downloading, saving, and overall management
  • Schedule conferences and depositions and maintain attorney calendars
  • Manage bills for third‑party vendors, prepare check requests, and follow up on vendor payments

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of defense litigation experience (insurance defense a plus)
  • Experience with litigation procedures and processes
  • Familiarity with drafting, preparing, and formatting pleadings and filings (briefs, TOC, TOA)
  • Knowledge of State and Federal court procedures and rules
  • Team‑based work environment and backup support for other Secretaries
  • Excellent organizational, typing, time‑management, and Microsoft Office 2013 skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and daily engagement with attorneys
  • Open to new responsibilities and challenging tasks
