Job Summary The Unmanned Aerial Systems Pilot I or II performs all flights, collateral duties, and assigned crew duties—including Remote Pilot In Command, Visual Observer, and Sensor Operator—associated with the operation of UAS for company asset inspection. The primary responsibility is to perform routine and comprehensive UAS patrols and data collection analysis while also assisting with fast response outage and post-storm inspections. The pilot ensures coordination of safe operations among all aircraft operating by or on behalf of the company.

Responsibilities

Safely pilot UAS, act as a Visual Observer or Sensor Operator in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and company policy.

Manage, process, and analyze data collected via UAS and other sensor platforms, ensuring accurate data is used in reports and databases.

Perform pre‑mission planning, flight notifications, automation planning, pre‑briefings, pre‑flight and post‑flight inspections, risk assessments, debriefings, and post‑mission reporting in accordance with the UAS Operations Manual.

Ensure operational status of UAS equipment by conducting pre‑ and post‑flight inspections and routine maintenance inspections and repairs.

Participate in Entergy Aviation Safety Management System, reporting UAS specific incidents/accidents.

Complete collateral duties and company administrative requirements in a timely and professional manner.

Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders and present UAS inspection findings in clear and concise format.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in surveying, Engineering Technology, or related field or 2 years of Part 107 flight experience and 100 hours of verifiable commercial UAS operations for Pilot I.

Associate’s degree in surveying, Engineering Technology, or related field and 2 years of Part 107 flight experience and 100 hours of verifiable commercial UAS operations or 2-4 years of Part 107 flight experience and 200 hours of verifiable commercial UAS operations for Pilot II.

Strong working knowledge of unmanned aerial systems and operating requirements.

Strong knowledge of federal regulations and standards related to UAS commercial flight operations.

Familiarity with traditional photogrammetry and advanced photography, LiDAR and general remote sensing.

Computer office skills in flight planning, scheduling, Microsoft tools, and expense software.

Required Certifications and Licenses

FAA Part 107 License.

LA State issued Class D Chauffeur License.

Medical certification and maintenance.

Preferred Experience

Electrical and Gas Infrastructure experience.

2 years of experience with LiDAR, remote sensing, and traditional photogrammetry.

Location Louisiana—New Orleans—Kenner, Louisiana

Travel More than 75%.
