Overview MH Environmental Service Associate II – responsible for cleaning and maintaining hospital areas in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition. Responsibilities

Sweeps and mops floor areas and vacuums/spot cleans carpets using appropriate solutions.

Arranges furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion after cleaning assigned areas.

Climbs ladders to hang drapes or reach high areas for other cleaning purposes.

Selects cleaning materials and supplies, prepares solutions, loads service cart, and transports to work area.

Operates various types of equipment, both mechanical and electrical (buffers, scrubbers), and reports malfunctions immediately.

Collects medical waste as established by the Infection Control Committee.

Maintains floors by sweeping, mopping, applying finishes/polishing, and strips floors as required.

Washes furnishings, floors, and equipment with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to prevent disease spread.

Washes walls, ceilings, and inside windows using appropriate solutions; washes outside windows and screens as required.

Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner at all times.

Completes patient room/discharge cleaning according to departmental and infection control policies.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent related work experience.

Responsible for ongoing development of work skills through available resources (in‑services, formal educational programs, other work groups and on‑the‑job training).

Attends and participates in staff meetings and in‑services and/or reviews documentation as required.

Assists in orientation of others and actively participates in mentoring.

Performs analytical and decision‑making functions with minimal supervision.

Recognizes and seeks assistance/consultation when appropriate.

Demonstrates understanding of relative Hospital and all‑departmental policies and procedures including safety issues.

Possesses awareness of programs/services provided by Hospital and where they are located.

Pay Range $17.20/hr – $25.06/hr

Location Morton Hospital – 88 Washington Street, Taunton, Massachusetts 02780 – Day shift 24 hours per week days – Full‑time
