Data Instruction and Outreach Librarian - Library Position Overview: An associate librarian‑temporary full‑time appointment for two years with possibility of renewal for one additional year. Anticipated start as early as January 2025. Salary range $80,349‑$102,121.

Responsibilities

Provide data instruction, consultations, workshops, and instructional content under guidance of Data Services Librarian.

Develop scaffolded data instruction for novice users, including undergraduate students, and support licensed datasets and platforms.

Collaborate with subject librarians to teach data literacy, ethics, analysis, and visualization.

Engage with Research Data Management Program and campus partners to promote open research practices and workflows.

Participate in library‑wide planning and governance and contribute to professional activities beyond primary assignment.

Qualifications

Advanced degree or enrollment in an advanced degree program.

Two years of experience providing reference and instructional services in an academic or professional setting.

Master’s degree from an ALA‑accredited institution or equivalent.

Demonstrated commitment to library values and analytical, presentation, and communication skills.

Experience with Python, R, Jupyter, GitHub, and Unix Shell for computational research.

Knowledge of data ethics, AI, data privacy, security, and bias.
