Overview Accenture transforms how capital projects are planned, managed, and executed, creating a better way to build for the future. The Resident Engineer works onsite with clients to observe contractor operations, ensure safety, maintain compliance with CAL OSHA, and support construction management, quality, and budget governance.
Responsibilities
Ensure safety of employees and traveling public by observing contractor operations and traffic conditions.
Review contractor operations for compliance with CAL OSHA regulations.
Maintain complete contract records—construction progress, expenditures, budgets, and work order balances—according to state and federal regulations.
Perform field inspections to determine compliance with plans, specifications, utility agreements, and related requirements.
Prepare reports and review daily inspection reports from Field Inspectors.
Maintain accurate project records and ensure compliance with departmental policies.
Calculate and document field quantities for payment purposes.
Document the as-built condition of the constructed facility.
Monitor project schedule and budget, reporting to executive leadership.
Assist in managing the project to maintain quality, schedule, and budget.
Prepare contract change orders and related documents.
Research and develop solutions for field conditions necessitating a contract change order, including engineering redesign work.
Identify the need for and prepare contract-related documents for submission to the contractor.
Review CPM schedules, identify and mitigate project risks.
Complete a daily project diary of pertinent activities and discussions.
Assist in resolving contractor disputes in a timely manner.
Prepare draft claim reports for client vendor/contract management when required.
Ensure inspection, testing, and other quality activities are performed in accordance with the client’s Quality Management Plan (QMP).
Perform constructability reviews and provide comments on design packages.
Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
Registration as a Professional Engineer in California.
Minimum ten (10) years of experience in Construction Management on transit projects of at least $30 million.
Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience in the management of major construction contracts of similar size and scope.
Valid California Class C driver’s license.
Bonus Points
Experience with EV charging infrastructure projects.
Contractor experience (Project Manager, Superintendent, Engineer) desirable.
Compensation Annual base range: $175,000 – $250,000. Base compensation varies by location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
