Energy Marketing and Trading Financial Analyst

The Market Analyst will report to the Head of Business Development & Growth at ATA and supports the physical supply & trading desk by providing commercial insights around the supply/demand dynamics of the Americas markets. The role provides an opportunity to directly contribute to the Aramco Trading Americas (ATA) commercial trading teams while ensuring broader alignment and information-sharing across commodities, and global offices.

Responsibilities

Develop/maintain regional level supply/demand models to understand and forecast market balances and components (refining and petrochemicals complexes runs, production, I&E, pipeline flows, etc.)

Leverage models, along with a deep knowledge of various market factors, to formulate and communicate a point-of-view on refined and petrochemical products markets (price, spreads, basis, etc.) as well as identify market trends, signposts/risks

Leverage real-time data to produce tactical analysis as to current market dynamics

Participate in commercial team meetings and add insights around supply/demand balances

Coordinate with Market Analysts globally to ensure continuity across regions and products

Support strategic decision-making through data-driven analysis, financial modeling and competitive intelligence.

Efficiently complete ad-hoc project requests

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field

Strong understanding of refining economics (cracks, spreads, etc.) and demonstrated experience in NGLs market and fundamentals economics

Minimum of 3+ years of analytical experience covering the oil, clean products, and/or NGLs markets

Advanced programming knowledge (Python, VBA, etc.) with a history of model building

Prior trade floor experience, specifically working with petrochemicals & refined products

Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with ability to gain confidence and cooperation of others

Prior experience successfully working in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work in an office environment located in downtown Houston, TX
