Design, develop, implement, enhance, and maintain the MES software application to optimize manufacturing processes by integrating production operations with business systems. Play a key IT support and MES program lead role representing the Tech@Lilly function. Design, develop, implement, enhance, and maintain MES solutions in a validated state that integrate production processes with business systems to optimize manufacturing efficiency, quality, and safety. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing operations. Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance of MES to ensure system reliability and data accuracy; stay up to date with emerging MES trends. Ensure documented processes and procedures are in place to meet quality and compliance standards (GMP regulatory experience). Support life cycle management (LCM) activities to keep MES systems current and compliant. Create, update, and maintain Syncade MES recipes. Perform IT tasks related to organizational transformation and data analytics. Ensure MES compliance with industry regulations (FDA guidelines, GMP) and Lilly policies; maintain product quality and safety. Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent communication; effectively influence the business to drive value and digital solutions. Represent Tech@Lilly in Process and Flow teams; leverage agile methodologies across the solution lifecycle (design, implement, automate, modernize, maintain, optimize). Provide site on-call support as part of a 24x7 team when needed; promote and maintain a safe work environment; foster a site culture aligned with Lilly values and operational excellence. Establish a strong site culture based on Lilly values, expectations, and operational excellence standards. Travel to Indianapolis and other Lilly sites as required; typical on-site role with some travel. Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 2+ years of experience with MES technologies (e.g., Rockwell Automation Pharma Suite, Emerson Syncade, Siemens Camstar, Werum PAS-X); preference for Syncade experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve MES-related issues. Additional Preferences
Proficiency in MES platforms (e.g., Syncade, PMX), SQL, XML, and integration tools. Programming experience in .NET, Java, Python, and SQL; familiarity with low-code tools (e.g., Tulip). Knowledge of ISA-95, OPC, data historians; experience integrating MES with ERP/SCADA for data flow and interoperability. Understanding of cybersecurity concepts related to MES; experience with GMP and FDA regulatory compliance; experience with Computer System Validations. Experience mentoring technical team members; exposure to international operations or global IT projects; ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Other Information
