WKEF/DKEF has an immediate opening for a morning news producer! In this role, you’ll be responsible for producing two hours of a fast‑paced morning show. This is made for someone who likes to take risks and showcase their creative side. This is a tremendous opportunity to break into television news or continue to grow in your career. Responsibilities
Write and update stories for newscasts. Create opportunities for memorable moments and conversations on‑air. Work closely with reporters, directors and photographers to maximize our resources each morning. Determine the flow of two hours of morning news. Work with on‑air talent to help book compelling guests and newsmakers for the show. Time shows. Monitor breaking news, weather and traffic throughout the morning. Skills & Qualifications
Solid news judgement. A willingness to learn and grow. Be a compelling and accurate writer. Be able to manage time well. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Strong leadership and communication skills. Flexibility and fast problem‑solving skills are vital. Proficiency with iNews a plus. Journalism or related degree preferred. EEO & Inclusion
