Senior Data Analyst

and contribute to cutting‑edge research in age‑related diseases through the Optimal Aging Institute.

Position Summary The Senior Data Analyst will collaborate closely with faculty on epidemiologic studies including the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) cohort, the ACHIEVE hearing intervention trial, the Chronic Kidney Disease Prognosis Consortium (CKD‑PC), and NYU Langone Health internal data. This is an onsite role based in New York, NY.

Job Responsibilities

Design study protocols, develop databases, and prepare data for statistical analysis.

Program and conduct statistical analyses, write reports, and assist in manuscript preparation.

Maintain and optimize existing databases and troubleshoot complex database issues.

Provide training and support to researchers in the use of STATA, R, SAS, and other statistical software.

Communicate analytic findings to investigators and present results at seminars and meetings.

Collaborate with faculty and trainees on grant proposals and study design.

Additional Position Specific Responsibilities

Prepare manuscripts, conference presentations, grant proposals, and technical reports, including drafting methods and results sections and developing data visualizations.

Ensure reproducibility and transparency in analytic workflows through version control, thorough documentation, and code review.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, or a related discipline.

At least 2 years of experience conducting data analysis in a healthcare, public health, or policy research setting.

Advanced proficiency in statistical methods for clinical trials, longitudinal and multivariate data, survival data analysis, weighted analyses, and/or high‑dimensional data analysis.

Strong computational skills, including SQL, SAS, R, and Stata, and the ability to learn new languages and systems rapidly.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple analytic workstreams and competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior involvement in multidisciplinary academic research teams and contribution to grant‑funded research projects.

Strong motivation and dependability, a commitment to collaborative team science, and a high level of organization.

Salary Transparency The advertised salary range for this role is $67,771.14 – $105,167.79 annually, in compliance with New York State law. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
