Summary: Assists in the management of trucking and fleet operations. Duties include communicating with our customers to record their requirements, planning and adjusting routes, as well as scheduling drivers to deliver or collect freight.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinates trucking operations of the Texas Plant to ensure effective inbound and outbound movement of product. Acts as backup for the Terminal Manager in their absence. Coordinates and ensures DOT and OSHA compliance of all contract carriers. Coordinates with GSWP General Managers and Sales Managers on movement of product between facilities. Ensures that all transportation invoices are correct before releasing for payment. Coordinates inbound and outbound freight rates with all truckers doing business with the Texas Plant. Audits and ensures applicable paperwork, certifications, permits, etc., are in place for Contract Carriers. Enforces worker compliance with established safety rules and regulations and measures to protect safety of employees and customers and security of merchandise, property, and equipment. Reviews accident reports and takes actions prescribed by company policy. Other duties as assigned or required. Competency:

High school diploma or GED (required). Bachelor's or associate degree in transportation or logistics (preferred). 2-3 years of experience as a truck dispatcher in a similar industry. Exceptional ability to schedule drivers, plan routes, and dispatch drivers to customer locations. Extensive experience in customer services, as well as generating freight bills and invoices. Experience with Transportation Management Software (TMS), such as McLeod, JD Edwards, and Motive. Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Express. Ability to monitor drivers' logs, truck maintenance schedules, and repairs. Knowledge of applicable transportation regulations and laws. Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
