Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Maintenance, Operations and Transportation (MOT), performs skilled HVAC work in the installation, maintenance and repair of refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air condition equipment and systems; performs related duties as assigned; may perform general maintenance duties and assists other skilled maintenance personnel by performing unskilled and semiskilled duties in other maintenance areas.
Inspects, services, maintains and repairs air conditioning, refrigeration, heating and ventilating systems and related equipment; inspects, repairs, and maintains equipment and systems including plumbing related to boiler repair; inspects, disassembles and maintains hot water and forced air heating and ventilation equipment; replaces, adjusts and installs valves, thermostats, fans, motors, gaskets, filters, belts, regulators, fuses, controls, switches, gauges, tubing and pipes; performs electrical pneumatic and mechanical testing of equipment; designs, fabricates and installs electrical control systems; designs, fabricates, installs, calibrates and maintains pneumatic control systems; connects motors to control panels and control panels to power sources; repairs and installs duct work and chassis covers; rebuilds pressure and temperature safety valves and water pumps; checks boilers and furnaces; flushes boilers and pump down units; checks and replaces generators; cleans and adjusts pilots; sets time clocks and inspects timing devices; cuts and threads pipe; performs brazing and soldering; keeps time, labor and material records; orders and stores supplies and materials; and drives a district vehicle or truck.

Requirements / Qualifications
- Certification (EPA Refrigeration Certificate: Possession of an EPA Refrigeration Technician Type I and Type II, or Type III Certificate.)
