Our client is actively seeking a highly detail-oriented and strategic

Purchasing Manager . This role involves overseeing the procurement of all essential materials, supplies, and services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in purchasing, vendor management, and cost control, coupled with a solid understanding of landscaping materials, tools, and equipment. A clear grasp of end-to-end supply chain processes, from sourcing to final delivery, is also crucial.

Location : Fort Mill, SC Start date : December 2025 Direct Hire Onsite M-F **10% travel within the Carolinas Pay:

$80,000-90,000/yr

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. 4+ years of experience

as a Purchasing Manager, specifically within the

landscaping, construction, or agricultural markets . Demonstrated expertise in

budgeting, cost optimization, and negotiation techniques . Exceptional

negotiation, organizational, and communication skills . Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet critical deadlines. Strong knowledge of

vendor management and inventory management systems . An analytical mindset combined with excellent interpersonal skills. Proficiency in procurement software, inventory systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement

purchasing strategies

that align with company objectives and project timelines. Manage the comprehensive

supply chain for various materials , including plants, soil, mulch, sod, hardscape components, irrigation supplies, tools, and equipment. Source and negotiate with vendors

to secure cost-effective purchases while upholding standards of quality and reliability. Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality, dependable delivery, and favorable pricing terms. Collaborate with executive leadership (CEO, CFO, President-level equivalents) to ensure procurement decisions support overarching strategic and financial goals. Rigorously evaluate and monitor

supplier performance

based on key metrics such as quality, responsiveness, and supply chain reliability. Forecast procurement needs accurately, based on project schedules, seasonal demand fluctuations, and current inventory levels. Maintain meticulous

purchasing records, inventory databases, and budget reports . Coordinate all

delivery logistics and schedules

to guarantee timely availability of materials for field teams. Work closely with project managers, field supervisors, and the operations team to anticipate and plan for material requirements. Proactively monitor market trends, pricing changes, product availability, and potential supply chain disruptions. Identify and implement opportunities for

supply chain optimization and significant cost savings .
