Orthopedic Spine Surgery Full-Time Marietta, GA
Overview:
A fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon specializing in minimally invasive spine surgery and artificial disc replacement is seeking a Physician Assistant to join their team.
This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced surgical technology in a collaborative, patient-centered practice focused on precision outcomes and faster recovery times.

Key Responsibilities:
Clinic Duties:
Conduct comprehensive physical exams, pre- and post-operative evaluations, and document findings. Order and interpret diagnostic tests (X-ray, MRI, CT, labs, etc.). Establish diagnoses, develop treatment plans, and coordinate necessary ancillaries. Provide minor office procedures (e.g., suturing, wound care, injections, casting/splinting). Fit and measure orthopedic devices and provide patient education. Triage patient calls, answer questions, and provide follow-up care. Perform independent evaluations and procedures in emergency situations.
Hospital & Surgical Duties:
Obtain pre-operative medical histories and physicals. Assist in surgery, including first assist, closures, and application of appliances. Conduct hospital rounds, write orders, and manage post-operative care. Dictate discharge summaries and maintain surgical logs. Participate in emergency evaluations and consultations.
Administrative Duties:
Provide accurate documentation and coding for services rendered. Attend required meetings and participate in committees as needed. Maintain compliance with HIPAA and professional standards.
Schedule & Additional Requirements:
OR Time:
Up to one day per week or as a backup; prior OR experience preferred. After-Hours Call:
Includes patient calls, rounding, or consults (approx. 1 weekend/month + 2 weekdays/month). Evening Clinic:
One Friday evening per month (paid at $150/hour in addition to base salary).
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Active state license and required certifications. Excellent clinical, organizational, and communication skills. Customer service focus and strong problem-solving abilities. Operating room experience preferred (new grads with surgical certification will be considered).
