Orem, UT (Headquarters) The top ~45 applicants will be invited to our all-day event (company travel assistance provided). Team construction challenge, Q&A lunch with prior interns, and interview rounds with Area Managers, Project Managers. Official offers will begin going out immediately following Intern Day.
What Youll Do (Job Summary) As a
Heavy Civil Construction Intern , youll support both field and office operations similar to a Field Engineer. Youll help interpret plans and specs, track quantities, assist with subcontractor coordination, and contribute to quality, schedule, and cost objectivesguided by mentors on active heavy-civil projects.
Sample Responsibilities Review plans/specifications; assist with work plans and submittals. Perform quantity takeoffs and track daily production/installed quantities. Support field inspections, testing coordination, and basic QC documentation. Help coordinate subcontractors, delivery windows, and site logistics. Collect field measurements and supply counts for billing/budgeting. Assist with estimate setup, data entry in takeoff/PM software, and pay requests. Update look-ahead schedules and contribute to progress reporting and photo logs. Model WW Clydes safety culture; participate in daily huddles and JHAs.
Qualifications Actively pursuing a Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar degree; sophomore standing or higher by Summer 2026. Willing and able to
travel/temporarily relocate to project sites for the internship. Strong initiative, work ethic, and leadership potential; effective communicator. Solid organization/time-management skills; proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook. Prior hands on or internship experience (construction, trades, farming, surveying, etc.) is a plus but not required.
