Job Summary: The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the general supervision of a Radiologist or licensed provider. This role supports both ambulatory and inpatient settings, delivering high-quality imaging for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols and clinical standards.
Responsibilities: Operate ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic images Prepare patients for procedures and explain the process Ensure proper documentation and image labeling Collaborate with physicians to interpret findings Maintain equipment and follow safety protocols Participate in on-call rotation as needed
Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent Experience: Entry-level; less than 1 year of experience required Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS)
must be obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer Must hold at least one of the following sonography credentials:
Accepted Sonography Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT): Breast Sonography (ARRT-BS) General Sonography (ARRT-S) American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS): Abdomen (RDMS-AB) Breast (RDMS-BR) OB/GYN (RDMS-OB) Musculoskeletal Sonography (MSK) Vascular Technology (RVT) Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI): Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS)
