Senior Estimator
Position Purpose
This team member will manage and prepare detailed cost estimates, oversee the preparation of proposal documents, and perform purchasing for awarded projects that support the strategic plan of the company.

Reports to: Pre-Construction Director
Experience
10+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction
History of securing successful design-build, design-bid-build, and CMaR projects
Education B.S. / B.A. in a construction-related discipline or equivalent combination of technical training and construction experience.

Ability to prepare detailed estimates for projects up to $30 million Proven ability to build relationships with Owners, Architects, and Subcontractors Proficient with Estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn software programs quickly
Essential Duties & Responsibilities-Estimating Perform all duties with a manner and attitude that promotes a cooperative and respectful work environment. Professionally communicate with Owners, Architects/Engineers, and Subcontractors with positive results; for Owners that means being viewed as someone who is a true advocate of the Owner and can be relied upon; for Architects/Engineers that means being viewed as a collaborator who is a positive influence on the team; for Subcontractors that means being viewed as a fair resource and contact in the Subcontractors attempt to secure new business. Manage the bid process, including solicitations, quantity surveys, pricing, and bid day procedures and assignments. Ensure all estimating activities comply with established company policies and procedures. Obtain all required bid documents and attend all pre-bid meetings Prepare detailed or conceptual estimates depending on project status and needs Prepare detailed estimates for all self-perform items, including demolition, concrete, carpentry, openings, and specialty items installations Assure all estimates are accurate and reflect all project requirements Develop and document detailed notes, quantity surveys, and estimating thinking for Purchasing and Construction Operations Solicit subcontractor & supplier participation to ensure adequate bid coverage Coordinate with the Business Development Manager the preparation of bid proposals and Owner presentations Participate in meetings with Project Management & Construction Operations Maintain and update the Master Vendor list Develop and maintain Subcontractor and Vendor relations Keep current with changes and trends in methods of construction and materials, construction costs, wage rates, fringes, and working rules

Work Environment This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical Demands This is largely a sedentary role; however, some bending, stooping, and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds is required. Additional Requirements Due to the nature of this role, local travel may be required up to 25%. Drivers License, personal vehicle and auto insurance must remain current at levels deemed appropriate by Bandy Constructors and employees must remain in good standing for insurability purposes. Successful completion of a fingerprint background check and drug screen.
