Our client, a growing civil and structural engineering firm serving both public and private sectors, is seeking a licensed Civil PE to lead and expand their Public Works division.

What You'll Do As the
Lead Civil Engineer - Public Works , you'll oversee technical design, mentor junior staff, and manage a diverse range of municipal infrastructure projects from start to finish. Your leadership will directly shape the future of the Public Works department and influence its long-term success.
Key Responsibilities: Lead design for
water, wastewater, drainage,
and roadway projects Conduct field inspections and ensure quality assurance across deliverables Oversee project scope, schedule, and budget to meet client expectations Supervise designs using AutoCAD/Civil3D and support technical development within the team Review and redline civil plans; mentor EITs and junior staff Serve as a primary point of contact for city and county clients Prepare and submit permit applications and related documentation Assist with construction contract bidding and award processes Collaborate with internal survey, structural, and civil teams across offices Participate in hiring and process improvements to support team growth

Who We're Looking For Licensed Civil PE (Professional Engineer)
with 5+ years of relevant experience Strong background in municipal/public works project management Eager to lead a department and mentor junior engineers Skilled communicator with clients, teams, and stakeholders Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and familiar with GIS or related tools Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment Motivated to make a meaningful impact through your work
Technical Focus Areas Our client provides a wide range of public works services, with emphasis on: Surveying Lift Station Design Hydraulics & Hydrology Water & Wastewater Systems Subsurface Utility Engineering Construction Management
Location & Work Environment This is an in-person position based in
Bay City, TX , with occasional travel to surrounding counties for client meetings and site visits. Relocation assistance is available.
