Accounts Receivable Specialist - Home Health & Hospice.
This person will be responsible for assisting with daily lock box processing, applying payments to accounts receivable, and entering adjustments. Applies cash, check and credit card payments from all sources to accounts receivable. Balances entries to the bank deposits prior to posting against patient accounts. Keys approved adjustments. Releases co-pay and deductible amounts per benefit explanations. Completes follow up on pending/incomplete items from previous month (posting in transit), prior to the current months closure. Manages assigned agencies for all posting and adjustments. Serves as back up for Waystar uploads, Waystar remit downloads, and Medicare remit downloads Monitors personal and group emails for AR correspondences regarding possible posting errors, adjustments or offsets for your assigned agencies. Takes patient calls for payment or balance inquiry; forwards patient information to biller/collector if additional information or discussion is necessary Identifies and assists with resolution of unapplied cash, unidentified payments, refund requests, and posting errors. Completes monthly reports for corporate accounting department Serves as backup for any staff coverage needed, including insurance authorizations and billing. Successfully manages multiple priorities and ensures time sensitive events are met appropriately and completely. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Job Requirements: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Previous accounts receivable experience preferred. Understanding of basic accounting preferred. Basic computer skills required.
