The

Business Development Specialist

will play a key role in driving revenue growth through lead generation, market research, and relationship building within the construction and heavy-equipment sectors. This individual will identify project opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, and support the sales team in expanding JJ Curran Cranes footprint across Michigan and surrounding markets.

Responsibilities Market Research & Lead Generation Research and identify upcoming construction, infrastructure, and industrial projects in Michigan. Monitor project databases, public bids, and general contractor updates to generate qualified leads. Build and maintain a pipeline of opportunities across target sectors (commercial, infrastructure, industrial, civic).

Relationship Development Cultivate and strengthen relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, developers, and site managers. Represent JJ Curran Crane at networking events, and pre-bid meetings. Collaborate with the sales team to support proposal development and client presentations.

Sales Support & CRM Management Input, track, and maintain accurate data in the companys CRM Coordinate with the operations team to ensure alignment on equipment availability, pricing, and scheduling. Assist in developing marketing materials, case studies, and client communications that highlight JJ Curran Cranes capabilities and project successes.

Strategic Growth Identify emerging markets and service opportunities within the Michigan construction ecosystem. Provide data-driven insights on competitor activity, pricing trends, and customer demand. Support leadership with strategic account planning and quarterly growth objectives.

Qualifications Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or related field (preferred). 25 years of experience in business development, construction sales, or equipment rental. Strong knowledge of Michigans construction and industrial market preferred. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. CRM experience Self-starter with a results-driven mindset and attention to detail.

Compensation & Benefits Starting at $60,000

salary
