In this role, you will help maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial data while supporting key finance processes across the organization.

What You’ll Be Doing
Review, analyze, and process utility invoices for accuracy and completeness
Review and process funding requests from third‑party service providers
Maintain accurate general ledger entries for utility expenses, accruals, and allocations
Track utility usage trends and variances, investigating anomalies or spikes in consumption
Collaborate with property management and operations teams to resolve billing discrepancies
Assist in preparing utility budgets and forecasts based on historical trends
Support external audits by providing required documentation
Perform monthly utility account reconciliations to ensure data integrity
Recommend process improvements to enhance utility cost control and reporting accuracy
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2+ years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to utility accounting or real estate
Strong understanding of accrual‑based accounting and general ledger systems
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Yardi, NetSuite)
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments
Experience in real estate, property management, or utilities is a plus
Familiarity with utility bill auditing or energy management platforms is preferred
Location & Schedule This position is based in our client’s Dallas, TX office. Standard workdays are Monday through Friday.
