NAS Meridian (DON)
Overview
Incumbent serves as a Non‑medical Clinical Counselor within Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC), Fleet and Family Readiness Department. The primary purpose is to provide non‑medical clinical counseling to individuals, couples, families, and groups on family dynamics, parent‑child interaction, couples’ communication, adjustment to common personal and family issues, adjustment to military life, and psycho‑educational training programs. Responsibilities
Non‑medical Clinical Counseling (40%)
– Receive and assess referrals, assess individual/family needs, triage risk cases, develop and facilitate group treatment programs, conduct quality assurance reviews, and support case management protocols. Installation Family Advocacy Program (40%)
– Serve as the FAP clinical SME, consult leadership, provide and triage case management services, coordinate child and domestic abuse reporting and family maltreatment interventions, and develop evidence‑based group programs. Problematic Sexual Behavior in Children and Youth (10%)
– Receive reports of problematic sexual behaviors, coordinate clinical services and specialized assessments, and collaborate with community providers for safety planning. Community Liaison (10%)
– Liaison with community agencies, represent Navy at domestic violence prevention meetings, educate and consult on Navy FAP, and maintain accurate records. Qualifications
Requirements include U.S. citizenship, successful completion of background investigation and E‑Verify check, valid driver’s license, and eligibility for Secret security clearance. Tier II clinical provider licensure is required (Licensed Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology). Candidates must demonstrate experience in military family dynamics, family violence assessment and intervention, and evidence‑based counseling approaches. This announcement is a Drug‑Free workplace.
