Beal Bank USA
IT Security Operations Lead (for Monet Bank)
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced IT Security Operations Manager to join our Information Technology department. This position is pivotal in safeguarding our organization's critical assets, sensitive data, and trusted reputation in an increasingly complex threat landscape. The IT Security Operations Manager will sit at the intersection of cybersecurity, risk management, and team coordination, leading the development and execution of our firm’s comprehensive cybersecurity strategies. This is not merely a technical management role; it is a strategic leadership position that requires a forward‑thinking mindset to balance robust security needs with core business objectives, ensuring that security protocols empower, rather than impede, organizational productivity and growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team of cybersecurity professionals, including analysts, engineers, and incident responders. Foster their technical skill development and career growth, cultivate a culture of security awareness, manage team schedules, on‑call rotations, and incident escalation procedures, and handle all aspects of employee management for the security operations team.
Threat Intelligence & Proactive Defense: Develop and manage a proactive threat intelligence program, oversee the enterprise vulnerability management program, drive proactive monitoring and reporting for endpoint and system health, and stay abreast of the latest cyber threats to proactively adapt strategies and enhance the organization’s defensive posture.
Security Operations & Incident Response: Provide comprehensive management of the Security Operations Center (SOC), lead the organization’s swift and effective response to all security incidents, develop, maintain, and test incident response plans, crisis management protocols, and disaster recovery procedures, and manage the full lifecycle of the security technology stack.
Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC): Develop, implement, and enforce enterprise-wide security policies, procedures, and standards, ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, conduct regular risk assessments, and collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to integrate security requirements into all business processes and projects.
Strategic Planning & Stakeholder Management: Set the strategic vision and develop a multi‑year roadmap for the Security Operations function, manage relationships with third‑party security vendors, act as the primary liaison with external stakeholders during major security incidents, manage the security operations budget, and provide clear, concise, and timely reporting to senior management and executive leadership.
Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 10‑15 years of progressive experience in the cybersecurity field, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management capacity directly overseeing a security operations team, SOC, or equivalent function.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
Incident Response: Proven, hands‑on experience leading the response to significant cybersecurity incidents, demonstrating strong crisis management skills and the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
Technical Foundations: A deep and robust understanding of core security principles, practices, and technologies, including network security, SIEM platforms, threat intelligence analysis, vulnerability management, and Identity and Access Management (IAM).
Leadership & Communication: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team of technical experts. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required, including the ability to articulate complex technical issues to both technical and non‑technical audiences, from junior analysts to executive leadership.
