Oil and Gas Recruiting Coordinator at Rigup The Senior Electrical Engineer oversees and manages the electrical and controls design of expansion and maintenance capital projects executed by third party engineering firms to ensure compliance with company standards and specifications and industry standards, and managed to the project budget and schedule. Liaison with other functional groups within Project Execution, Operations and Shared Services to ensure project and company requirements are achieved and incorporated into the design deliverables.

Responsibilities

Design of large horsepower (10,000 to 30,000 HP) turbine and electrical motor driven centrifugal compressor stations and industrial systems in hazardous classified areas meeting NEC requirements.

Electrical power systems design for 120/208 V lighting panels, 480 V motor control centers and 4160 V switchgear including sizing of cable, conduit, starters, overloads and transformers.

Controls system design for Allen‑Bradley or equivalent PLC base controls systems, operator interface, and communication between multiple PLC based systems.

Instrumentation design for smart and analog transmitters, pressure, temperature and level gauges, RTDs, thermocouples, flame and gas detector systems.

Project scope, schedule, capital cost estimate, execution planning, and risk management for assigned facility projects.

Review and approval of design deliverables such as drawings, technical reports and material listing sheets.

Vendor materials quotation review, technical evaluation and recommendation for equipment such as turbine/compressor packages, vessels, buildings, pipe, valves and fittings.

Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases and review lessons learned from past projects to incorporate recommendations into future designs.

Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support or lead department initiatives as required.

Ensure development project scope definitions comply with all regulatory, environmental, health and safety requirements through effective management and coordination of internal functional groups.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

7 years of progressively responsible experience in engineering and project management.

Demonstrated ability to innovate, initiate and manage change.

Capable of working independently, managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks accordingly.

Ability to resolve complex issues based on depth and breadth of technical and business knowledge.

Awareness of interrelationships with other stakeholders both internal and external to the project team.

Effectively communicate technical issues and impacts to other technical and non‑technical staff.

Working Conditions: Stress levels can be above normal as project work is deadline oriented, highly visible and numerous activities are conducted concurrently. Overnight business trips to the field may be required, usually requires Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
