Responsibilities
Work in close collaboration and provide guidance as a Subject Matter Expert to early career engineers solving manufacturing challenges and implementing process improvements.
Ensure Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team follows consistent ME practices and templates as established, trains team in their use, and ensure consistent and efficient production of team work products.
Develops strategies to improve metrics performance, helps team solve problems, and summarizes root causes and corrective actions for higher level leadership review.
Be accountable and hold team accountable for cost/ schedule/ technical performance of ME team activities.
Seek out and evaluate new manufacturing engineering technologies and methods for possible adoption in the factory.
Analyze and interpret electrical, electromechanical, and cable schematics during development and production stages.
Update and create assembly work instructions for efficient assembly based on the drawings and/or models.
Publish work instructions to the production floor for use during the assembly process.
Identify and maintain tool lists required for the efficient assembly of the given products.
Investigate technical problems and provide guidance in support of manufacturing engineers and operators to facilitate assembly performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to manufacturing failures and help implement corrective action which may include design change recommendations.
Support the implementation of lean manufacturing techniques to improve efficiency and reduce waste in the manufacturing process.
Provide input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
