Location: Stockton, CA. Position Type: Full Time. Pay: $24.98 – $35.53 per hour. Schedule: Swing shift.
Position Summary
Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties in and around the buildings of the Hospital complex.
Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment.
Repairs and maintains interior and exterior surfaces and textures of the hospital.
Assists co‑workers in completing their tasks.
Must be able to perform jobs in all patient care and operational areas subject to reasonable accommodations.
Must participate in the Respiratory Protection Program, which may include the wearing of a respirator.
Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
This is a union position.
Qualifications
Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
Experience: 3 years of documented work experience in the operation, maintenance and repair of various equipment within commercial, industrial, industrial or healthcare facilities preferred.
Licenses/Certificates: None.
Essential Job Functions
Performs requisitioned corrective, emergency and preventive maintenance on electrical distribution, mechanical, HVAC, power generation and medical gas systems and building structures as required.
Diagnoses system malfunctions on mechanical and electrical equipment. Replaces defective parts as necessary.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
Assists Electrician with troubleshooting and necessary repairs as well as installation of new service or projects as needed.
Assists Plumber with drains, fixtures, rodding, cleaning, etc. as assigned.
May assist Painter with plastering, bricklaying or concrete work as needed.
Assists in other areas of the department including, but not limited to the Boiler Room.
Checks all lighting in and around the hospital buildings on a regular basis. Replaces lamps as needed and/or makes necessary repairs to fixtures; repairs various types of electrical cords as needed, clean fixtures on a regular basis.
Plunges toilets and drains when necessary.
Repairs patient electrical and mechanical beds.
Services and repairs exhaust fans.
Repairs minor steam and water leaks.
Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs minor malfunctions in HVAC systems.
Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on any or all physical plant equipment or systems.
Repairs patient/nurse call system.
Checks motors and pumps operation in various areas of the hospital.
Repairs fire/smoke doors.
Performs minor electrical repairs.
Performs minor HVAC repairs and preventive maintenance.
Performs minor flooring, wall covering, wall treatment repairs.
Performs minor plumbing repairs.
Assists in roof repairs.
Non-essential Job Functions
Willingly performs other duties as assigned or requested.
