Vice President of Commerce and Marketing Technology – Arhaus

The Vice President of Commerce and Marketing Technology will be a visionary leader responsible for shaping and executing the company’s commerce strategy across retail, eCommerce, and emerging marketing technology platforms. This executive will drive innovation, enhance customer engagement, and deliver seamless, personalized shopping experiences through cutting‑edge technology and is responsible for delivery and continuous improvement of all customer‑facing technology platforms that drive revenue and brand engagement. This includes ownership of the enterprise e‑commerce, point‑of‑sale (POS), order management, CRM, loyalty, and marketing technology ecosystems. The role requires a proven track record of leading large‑scale technology initiatives preferably with Shopify experience, fostering innovation, and aligning technology with business goals in a fast‑paced retail environment.
Commerce and Marketing Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute the technology vision for commerce and marketing technologies to accelerate growth and profitability.
Partner with executive leadership to align innovation roadmaps with overall business objectives.
Lead a high‑performing technology organization (blend of internal and external teams), fostering a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement.
Commerce and Marketing Platform Management
Lead the vision, design, and lifecycle of e‑commerce, POS, OMS, and CRM systems (e.g., Shopify, Manhattan Active Omni, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or similar).
Oversee integrations between ERP, WMS, PIM, and digital front‑ends to ensure real‑time inventory visibility, accurate pricing, and personalized marketing.
Champion enterprise data integration and governance across the martech stack (CDP, analytics, tagging, and privacy compliance).
Ensure scalability, security, and performance of commerce and marketing platforms to support rapid growth and evolving customer needs.
Drive enhancements in digital merchandising, personalization, payment solutions, and omnichannel integration.
Identify and deploy emerging technologies that enhance the retail experience and operational efficiency.
Establish partnerships with technology providers, startups, and innovation labs to stay ahead of market trends.
Pilot and scale new digital experiences that deepen customer engagement and loyalty.
Customer Experience & Data
Ensure a frictionless omnichannel journey—online, mobile, and in‑store—through unified authentication, cart persistence, and loyalty experiences.
Enable store associates with reliable POS and clienteling tools that reflect real‑time customer and product data.
Partner with Marketing and Customer Insights to leverage martech capabilities for personalization, automation, and A/B testing. Lead efforts to deliver personalized, data‑driven customer journeys across channels.
Leverage analytics, customer insights, and predictive modeling to optimize product recommendations, promotions, and digital content.
Champion a customer‑first mindset in all technology initiatives.
Operational Excellence
Oversee technology budgets, vendor relationships, and enterprise platform investments.
Implement best practices for governance, cybersecurity, compliance, and risk management.
Partner with store operations, supply chain, and marketing to enable seamless omnichannel experiences.
Requirements
15+ years of technology leadership experience, with at least 7 years in senior roles overseeing engineering, operations and best practices.
Commerce and/or marketing technology management in retail or consumer‑facing industries.
Strong background in enterprise architecture, digital commerce platforms, and customer experience technologies.
Demonstrated success in leading digital transformation and delivering measurable business impact.
