Position Overview The Vice President, U.S. Commercial Operations is responsible for developing and leading BWXT’s U.S. Commercial Operations business. This role will focus on building the organization, developing the U.S. market, and establishing a best‑in‑class quality and operations program. The position requires a strategic, entrepreneurial leader with strong operational and commercial acumen, who can develop and grow the business while ensuring world‑class safety, quality, and compliance.
Your Day to Day as the Vice President, U.S. Commercial Operations
Strategic Leadership
– Establish and execute U.S. market entry and growth strategy, align with BWXT’s global commercial vision, build organizational structure and culture, and drive the transition from market development to sustainable operations.
Operations & Quality
– Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive quality program, lead operational functions including engineering, manufacturing, production planning, procurement, and customer delivery, ensure operational efficiency, on‑time performance, safety, and regulatory compliance, manage major manufacturing shops, and maintain manufacturing facilities.
Commercial Growth
– Develop new business opportunities and partnerships in the U.S. market, meet or exceed revenue, bookings, and operating income targets, and represent BWXT in customer negotiations, contract development, and strategic proposals.
People Leadership
– Recruit, mentor, and develop high‑performing teams across commercial and operational functions, build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and foster a culture of safety, integrity, accountability, and performance excellence.
Compliance & Financial Stewardship
– Ensure compliance with applicable U.S. and international codes, regulations, and standards, manage budgets, capital planning, and P&L responsibility for U.S. Commercial Operations, and identify and implement cost savings, resource optimization, and investment opportunities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or business.
15–20+ years of leadership experience in commercial operations, engineering, and/or manufacturing, preferably in nuclear or other highly regulated industries.
Proven success in market development, operational leadership, and P&L management.
Deep knowledge of quality systems, safety programs, and regulatory compliance.
Strong track record in building organizations, driving growth, and delivering results.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, engage and interact with senior executives, regulators, and industry partners.
Ability to complete frequent domestic and international travel.
Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DOE or DOD security clearance.

Pay The base salary range for this position in Indiana (US‑IN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $207,000 and $271,000 per year. The total compensation package may also include an annual cash incentive, medical, retirement, and other benefits.
