The Small Business Banker develops and manages client accounts for the Small Business Banking Division, ensuring these accounts meet established requirements and maximize profitability at a minimum risk.
Responsibilities
Represent the bank in conducting active prospecting and business development activities with small business clients (minimum $5MM in revenue) to generate new deposit, loan, treasury, and other fee income.
Manage relationships with small business banking clients through consistent outreach, nurturing, and growth.
Establish a strong referral network with real estate agents, brokers, CPAs, attorneys, and other centers of influence.
Develop professional relationships with bank department associates, supplemental business lines, and vendors to cross‑sell and recommend appropriate products and services.
Collaborate with other lines of business to ensure clients’ specific needs are met.
Provide quality customer service to existing accounts through problem resolution and maintain consistent communication via onsite visits and outbound calls.
Maintain intimate knowledge of bank policies and guidelines for the business line.
Refuse lending opportunities to appropriate banking partners, including Business Banking, Middle Market, Treasury Management, Highland Capital, FiServ, ADP, residential mortgage, and deposit relationships.
Participate in civic and community activities to promote the bank’s products and strengthen community ties.
Serve on CRA board or committee to help meet the bank’s CRA objectives.
Interview loan applicants, complete applications, and collect required documentation to understand the customer’s financial picture.
Educate borrowers on the business line process, structure, and expectations.
