Position Summary The Senior Vice President of Business Development (SVP) will lead strategic growth initiatives across all behavioral health service lines. This executive will be responsible for identifying new market opportunities, cultivating referral networks, and developing strategic partnerships with healthcare systems, payers, and community organizations. The SVP will play a key role in expanding our footprint, increasing revenue, and positioning the organization as a premier provider of mental health services.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy focused on market expansion and service diversification.
Identify and evaluate opportunities for new facilities, service lines, and strategic acquisitions.
Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, managed care organizations, government agencies, and referral sources.
Lead contract negotiations with payers and strategic partners to optimize reimbursement and service access.
Collaborate with clinical and operational leadership to ensure alignment between growth initiatives and service delivery capabilities.
Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
Represent the organization at behavioral health conferences, advocacy events, and stakeholder meetings.
Lead and mentor a high-performing business development team.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in business development, preferably within behavioral health, mental health, or healthcare services.
Proven success in expanding market share, developing strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth.
Strong understanding of mental health treatment models, payer contracting, and healthcare regulations.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
Preferred Experience
Experience in multi-site health operations or mental health networks.
Background in mergers & acquisitions or joint ventures in healthcare.
