role at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This position is located at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, New York and supports the Ophthalmology Section of the Surgery Service.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive clinical and surgical ophthalmological care to Veteran patients.
Deliver diagnostic and therapeutic services in inpatient and outpatient settings, order diagnostic studies, and perform surgical and non-surgical general ophthalmology procedures.
Supervise ophthalmology residents in the eye clinic, short procedure room, laser room, and operating room.
Initiate evidence‑based system changes for delivering patient care.
Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate educational programs.
Teach and guide others involved in the educational program.

Schedule
– Monday‑Friday 7:30 am‑4:00 pm with shared call rotation required.

Requirements
U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens only if no qualified citizens available.
Proficient in written and spoken English.

Complete online onboarding and required identification.

Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine or equivalent (osteopathic) from an ACGME or AOA approved program.
Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state, territory, or D.C.
Completed residency training and board eligible/certified in Ophthalmology.
Completed a Glaucoma fellowship.
Engineering of evidence‑based practice and academic teaching experience preferred.
Preferred experience in Surgical Glaucoma or comprehensive medical glaucoma.
