Adjunct Lecturer in Law - Digital Media Transactions
USC Gould School of Law is seeking an instructor to teach our online Digital Media Transactions class from January through May 2026. The instructor will invest approximately 10-15 hours per week on instruction, grading, and student communication. Courses will be taught fully online; lecturers may work from any location.
Responsibilities • Develop and teach the Digital Media Transactions course (2 units) to students in the Online LL.M., Online M.S.L., and various Online Certificate programs. • Prepare and deliver course materials, assignments, and assessments. • Grade assignments in a timely manner and provide constructive feedback. • Communicate regularly with students and respond to inquiries. • Complete required faculty training on schedule.
Qualifications • Strong professional background in digital media law and/or related fields. • Preferred experience with law school instruction and/or online teaching. • Ability to work independently and manage a full online course load. • Commitment to USC’s Unifying Values and inclusive educational environment.
Compensation and Appointment The base salary range for this position is $2,433.66 – $9,984.65 per semester. The appointment is a less‑than‑full‑time adjunct role, typically teaching one course per year but may teach one course per semester with approval. Factors considered include scope of responsibility, units, experience, education, skills, equity, and market considerations.
Training Requirements Adjunct Lecturers must complete mandated training by required deadlines, including Harassment Prevention, Integrity and Accountability, Information Security, and Workplace Violence Prevention. Failure to complete training may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination, in accordance with the Faculty Handbook.
USC reserves the “Adjunct” appointment for faculty teaching less than full time who are employed full‑time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year but, in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester if approved by the dean.
