Job Summary The Sr Manager, CWS PMO provides strategic, consultative guidance and manages complex programs, including oversight of Project Managers within the CWS Strategic Initiatives Office. The Sr Manager is responsible for providing governance, structure, and coordination across multiple initiatives that drive strategic change within the HR (CWS) function. This role ensures alignment between HR (CWS) transformation priorities, enterprise goals, and delivery timelines, enabling leadership to make informed decisions and ensuring programs are executed with quality, consistency, fiscal discipline, and measurable impact.

The Sr Manager leads large, cross‑functional teams to ensure a consistent and seamless customer experience. The successful consultative Sr Manager balances scope, risks, dependencies, and budget of multiple projects to drive program or portfolio success and reach the desired business outcomes of the client.

Responsibilities

Manage Project Managers to ensure accurate tracking of program budgets and resources while managing actuals vs. planned hours against the resource allocation and budget. Timely reporting of project financials and budgets to stakeholders.

Validate initial program/project scope and estimates. Understand and articulate the impact of project changes on the program. Influence and make program recommendations at executive stakeholder level. Set strategy for minimizing impact and risk to the client due to project changes.

Maintain continuous alignment of program scope with the client’s strategic business objectives. Make recommendations to modify the program to enhance effectiveness toward the business results or strategic intent.

Establish and own program communication plan. Consolidate, manage and execute project communication plans into program communications plan for all stakeholders and work streams.

Master tools and methodologies for solution delivery excellence.

Mentor Program and Project Managers on tools, methodologies, and consultative skills.

Takes accountability for project results and holds all project team members accountable for their scope of work.

Demonstrate ability to diffuse uncomfortable situations with client and/or project team.

Lead efforts to continuously define, contribute and improve our overall project management knowledge base across solution areas. Develop standards, best practices and training for team members.

Assimilate information from across all projects in the program and distill the information for the appropriate stakeholders. Integrate new information on the fly, synthesize the information and chart a new course as appropriate.

Adapt communication style and medium to the audience needs. Adjust communications based on complex political landscape.

Define strategy and content for formal presentations and coach project managers on delivery. Create talking points and strategic messaging.

Use political savviness, business acumen, and relevant personnel along with CDW experience to establish credibility.

Qualifications

Previous experience navigating a matrixed organization.

Bachelor’s degree in business or computer related field or equivalent experience and 9 years experience delivering Program or Project Management, OR 13 years experience delivering Program or Project Management.

3 years of managerial experience.

Participate productively in virtual teams to improve Project Management processes.

Demonstrated ability to take accountability for programs and their results, be fiscally responsible and lead teams to meet program success factors.

Working knowledge of one or more formal project management methodologies, proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Project/Office.

Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.

Applies discretion when dealing with sensitive/confidential information.

Understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information.

Organize cross‑functional plans and strategies into understandable concepts with ability to multi‑task, organize and prioritize.

PgMP, PMP and/or relevant Certifications (e.g., CSM, PSM, CSP, SPC, PMP, SAFe, etc.).

Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $140,000 – $194,400 depending on experience and skill set. Annual bonus target of 10% subject to terms and conditions of plan. Benefits include health, dental, vision, retirement, and more.
