Associate Director/Director, Biomarker Operations Syndax Pharmaceuticals is seeking an experienced leader for its Associate Director/Director, Biomarker Operations role.

Role Overview This role is critical to support multiple clinical trials and deliver PK and Translational biomarker milestones. The successful candidate will have a proven track record managing specialty lab vendors, coordinating central and specialty labs, and working closely with clinical colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Biomarker Operations group, develop priorities, timelines, deliverables, and communication for Translational Biomarker Plans across all trials.

Manage weekly/daily operational activities around central and specialty labs to facilitate startup activities and readouts on Phase 1-3 trials.

Act as central support for the clinical team, serve as primary contact for sites and CROs related to kitting, sample collections, and handling.

Author SOPs and sample collection sections, initiate and finalize contracts/SOWs, manage vendor POs, and approve invoices.

Coordinate data and sample analysis, data transfers, reconciliation, and review with internal teams and external vendors.

Monitor and report on key deliverables and timelines for partner labs or CROs handling sample analysis.

Participate in CTWGs and maintain communication with clinical operations colleagues on study objectives and activities.

Manage managers, resources, and workload of the Biomarker Ops group.

Work with IT and data management to develop and manage comprehensive internal databases of biomarker sample inventories and data for translational analyses.

Maintain repository of Translational Biomarker Assay documents, validation reports, SOPs, vendor contracts, sample requirements, assay costs and utility.

Work with translational colleagues to manage priorities, timelines, and outputs for external research collaborations.

Identify and coordinate shipment of appropriate samples to vendors/collaborators for internal and external research studies.

Maintain communications with vendors/collaborators on sample expectations, data transfers, outputs, and study goals.

Desired Experience/Education and Personal Attributes

Degree in life sciences or related field.

8+ years in biomarker operations, clinical sample management, or translational research in biotech/pharma.

Proven track record managing specialty lab vendors and clinical sample logistics.

Strong understanding of clinical trial processes, GCP, and regulatory requirements.

Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.

Experience with database systems for sample tracking and data management is a plus.

Leadership experience with direct reports and cross-functional teams.

Location Syndax’s corporate office is in New York, NY.

Compensation Salary range: $185,000 - $230,000 annualized. Total package includes equity, annual target bonuses, and an outstanding benefits program.
