Job Description As a Security Officer – Chemical Site Patrol Full Time in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical. You will monitor and patrol designated areas to deter security‑related incidents and maintain a secure environment. This is a driving post where you will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible while providing exceptional customer service, and communicate clearly. What You’ll Do
Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites.
Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education.
Receive site‑specific training and guidance from experienced teams.
Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service.
Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise.
Responsibilities
Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures and site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, participate in emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter, helping to deter unauthorized activity and identifying potential security‑related issues in a chemical or petrochemical environment.
Observe and report any unusual conditions or potential hazards encountered during patrols.
Communicate clearly and professionally with site personnel, visitors, and Allied Universal management regarding security‑related matters.
Follow all post orders and instructions specific to the location, adapting to the unique requirements of a chemical or petrochemical setting.
Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points during patrols, verifying credentials as required.
What We’re Looking For
Availability across various days and shifts.
Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company.
Interest in transitioning into full‑time roles when available.
Minimum Requirements
A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
A Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by the Transportation Security Administration is required.
A Guard Card or license is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
