Purpose of the Job
We are seeking a strategic Regional Financial Controller to lead accounting operations for the North American division. This role ensures accurate and timely reporting, strong internal controls, compliance, audit completion management, and performance insights while driving financial transformation through modernized systems, enhanced analytics and scalable processes. The Regional Controller will also lead and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
This is a hybrid position, with 3 days per week in our Chicago, IL office.
Key responsibilities Financial management + Reporting
Oversee full-cycle accounting including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow for the region.
Ensure timely, accurate financials under IFRS + internal policies.
Collaborate with Shared Services (AP, AR, Tax) to optimize finance operations.
Lead regional audit and collaborate with external auditors under strict timelines.
Maintain documentation that meets company and regulatory standards.
Ensure robust internal controls and monitor financial risk.
Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
Strategic partnership + Analysis
Provide business leaders with actionable financial insights.
Influence without authority to drive change and alignment across stakeholders.
Collaborate with FP&A to analyze budget vs. forecast trends.
Participate in mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and post-integration.
Drive process improvements, system upgrades, automation and analytics.
Team leadership + Development
Lead and develop a high-performing regional finance team.
Set goals, conduct performance reviews and mentor staff.
Identify skill gaps, plan succession and evolve team structure.
Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion and continuous learning.
Knowledge, Skills + Experience
CPA required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Public accounting experience (Big Four or large firm preferred)
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role
Proven PCAOB audit exposure, either from Big Four public accounting or direct experience in a publicly traded company
Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP / IFRS and external controls (SOX, COSO)
Proven ability managing audits, reporting and compliance.
ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite); advanced Excel skills
Experience with financial transformation (process, systems, automation, analytics)
Leadership experience managing and developing teams (5+ staff)
Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills.

For Illinois applicants: The US base salary range for this position is $200,000 to $215,000 annually. Actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors that are unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, certifications and work location. This range may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation for this package includes annual performance bonus targets.
