Engineer (Sr. - Principal) - GENERATION Regulated Renewables/Wind, BoP, SCADA Responsible to the assigned supervisor for performing complex engineering work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient and economic accomplishment of assigned objectives.

Coordinate overall engineering activities among AEP, EPC Contractor, and OEMs for Generation capital and O&M projects; provide regular engineering progress updates to the project team and stakeholders; oversee multi-discipline engineering work; analyze renewable NERC compliance; review Technical Information Letters (TILs); review M&D data and recommend actions for each site.

Oversee multi-discipline engineering work.

Conduct renewable NERC compliance coordination with operations.

Review TILs and approve integration into fleet assets.

Review M&D data and recommend actions per site.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET accredited) or equivalent; master’s degree or PhD preferred.

6+ years of related engineering experience; 4 years with master’s or PhD acceptable.

Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) encouraged; preferred.

Knowledge of SCADA, BoP, and renewable generation systems.

Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.

Experience with NERC compliance and M&D data analysis required.

Compensation Base Salary: $97K – $146K per year. Total rewards include discretionary incentives, 401(k), pension, health insurance, vacation, and educational assistance.
