Compensation Salary Range (Grade A/890): $122,958 – $174,060
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for managing and overseeing special projects for the NYCT Department of Subways (DOS). The Senior Director, Subways Coordination & Solutions, will provide executive support to the EVP of Subways and act as a key participant on the management team.
Provide oversight, offer recommendations, and interact with all division heads, as well as with other NYC Transit departments, on various operational issues and projects.
Chair high‑level meetings with the EVP’s direct reports to evaluate issues and to strategize for risk mitigation.
Serve as the Subways’ liaison for MTA Headquarters managed initiatives and projects for platform barriers and other innovative safety initiatives.
Manage and direct all administrative, financial, and operational activities for the EVP, and perform on‑site field inspections to observe daily operations, maintenance performance and capital construction activities.
Develop operational policies and procedures to ensure consistency across the divisions.
Education and Experience
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; Ten (10) years of related experience and seven (7) years of experience in a managerial/supervisory capacity are preferred.

Strong knowledge of NYCT and Subways rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Knowledge of Subways’ operations.
Strong project management skills.
Ability to develop strategies to achieve organizational goals.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong presentation skills.
Strong problem‑solving and negotiation skills.
Ability to forecast and communicate project budget needs.
Knowledge of public procurement processes and guidelines.
Selection Method Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview. All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
