Position Summary
The Spine Coordinator will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to grow, develop and support the second opinion program, second opinion research, and the Spine Comprehensive Center at UCI Health. Duties will include triaging and facilitating care to spine patients, patient and staff education, data collection, protocol development, ensuring compliance with guidelines and current measures. The coordinator must be able to work in a self‑directed environment, with the willingness and ability to collaborate with other members of the team. Duties
Triage and facilitate care to spine patients. Provide patient and staff education related to spine care, diagnostic procedures, medication and complex aspects of the plan of care. Collect and enter data, develop and implement protocols, ensure compliance with institutional guidelines and current measures. Assure continuity of care process including pre‑procedure, surgery, hospitalization, anticipated discharge needs and follow up in physician offices. Assist with other activities as assigned to help grow the practice and referrals to the Spine Comprehensive Center. Required Qualifications
Minimum 6 months experience working as a RN in a neurological surgery setting. Minimum 2 years of clinical experience. Minimum 1 year experience providing RN care to neurosurgical patients. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Demonstrated practice with and knowledge of chemotherapy agents. Current CA RN license. Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload. Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of neurosurgical spine surgeries and care of the post‑spine surgery patient. Bilingual skills to effectively communicate with patients and families. Licenses and Certifications
