Overview
CRIMINAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN (TEMPORARY) – Fulton County Government Responsibilities
Process inmates into jail booking and fingerprinting, update inmate records with court dispositions and criminal arrest warrants; schedule and/or prepare the Court calendar for inmates to appear in court. Disseminate sensitive GCIC/NCIC databanks to other law enforcement agencies; communicate via digital mobile devices with emergency dispatchers. Register Sex Offenders on the National Offender Registry; enter court-ordered temporary and permanent protection orders (TPO) on databanks. Respond to GCIC/NCIC hit requests from other agencies; perform GCIC/NCIC wanted person inquiries on offenders admitted to the jail; place detainers/holds for extradition, immigration, and other agencies. Process apprehension requests for law enforcement agencies within designated timeframes; process court orders to admit and/or release inmates. Update inmate records on disposition or court orders; enter warrants; maintain inmate data, charge status, and/or disposition in Odyssey; validate and modify GCIC/NCIC entries; log and disseminate GCIC/NCIC sensitive information to authorized personnel. Monitor GCIC/NCIC computer terminals; prepare calendars for upcoming court transports. Clear/remove invalid GCIC/NCIC warrants; conduct Criminal History background investigations via GCIC/NCIC terminals. Provide customer service in person, by phone, email, or mail; respond to routine questions, research problems, and initiate problem resolution; handle documentation related to department operations within established procedures. Operate a personal computer and standard office equipment; enter, retrieve, review, or modify data using word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and other software. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; supplemented by one year of clerical or customer service experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Specific License or Certification Required: Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) Certification; Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Network Operator Training; Security and Awareness Training must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment. Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Demonstrate proficiency in essential functions and apply county/department policies and procedures. May be required to pass a typing test; if applicable, type a minimum of 40 wpm using a personal computer. Additional Information
The purpose of this classification is to perform work related to entry and retrieval of information from GCIC and NCIC systems. Assignment location may vary.
