Key Responsibilities
Define, design, develop, and deploy services and applications in a micro‑service/cloud‑based architecture.
Ensure functional and non‑functional quality and on‑time delivery using agile principles.
Embrace extreme programming practices including paired development, test‑driven development, and continuous delivery.
Collaborate closely with a balanced team of developers.
Develop and maintain back‑end/server‑side parts of an application, including APIs, databases, and other services.
Engage with customers to understand use‑cases and requirements.
Solve complex problems by designing, developing, and delivering code using various tools, languages, frameworks, and technologies.
Align with architecture guidelines for a unified and coherent approach.
Design, develop, and deliver new code using tools, languages, frameworks, and technologies.
Develop and maintain back‑end applications like APIs and microservices using server‑side languages such as Java, Python, C#, etc.
Collaborate with front‑end developers to integrate UI elements and cross‑functional teams.
Manage application deployment to the cloud or on‑prem, monitor health and performance, harden security, and implement disaster recovery.
Manage data storage and retrieval using database technologies such as Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.
Promote improvements in programming practices such as test‑driven development, continuous integration, continuous delivery.
Optimize back‑end infrastructure and deployment practices to improve resiliency and reliability.
Support security practices to safeguard user data including encryption and anonymization.
Skills Required
Spring Boot – Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure microservices and web applications using the Spring Boot framework.
REST APIs – Architect, implement, and maintain well‑documented, efficient, and scalable RESTful APIs.
Java – Apply strong proficiency in Java programming to write clean, efficient, and testable code using OOP principles and design patterns.
Skills Preferred
GCP – Experience working with GCP or equivalent services to design, develop and deploy cloud‑native scalable solutions.
Kotlin – Develop and maintain applications using Kotlin while adhering to best practices and design patterns.
Experience Required
Java development; experience building micro‑service and cloud based solutions using Spring Platform (Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud), OAuth, Swagger, etc.
Experience with cloud environments (GCP, Azure, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, or similar).
Web service delivery experience (using REST) for backend services.
Experience with TDD and Agile Methodologies.
Experience with software development tools (backlog management, source code management, automated and unit test management, CI/CD, etc).
Proven ability to work both individually and collaboratively.
Strong communication skills and ability to think above and beyond baseline requirements.
8+ years in software development.
Education Required
Bachelor's Degree.
