Assistant Chief Engineer Arizona Charlie’s Boulder (Las Vegas, NV)

Responsible for assisting with the day to day operation and direct supervision of assigned activities within the facilities department. Oversee overall department and/or shift(s) as assigned. Ensure daily operations and experiences meet guest expectations. Appropriately respond to and manage any escalated departmental concerns and guest and/or team member challenges.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

Assist with training, developing, measuring performance, disciplining, and/or scheduling department staff, as assigned

Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, as they apply to the position

Maintain a strict preventative maintenance program

Assist in preparing the annual operating budget and plans in order to meet property facility requirements

Work closely with other departments to ensure the building, life support systems, and utility services are functioning in a safe and efficient fashion

Create, develop and implement an effective strategy to provide facilities support for residential areas of the hotel, public areas and back of the house service areas

Monitor the training needs of the department and oversees the implementation and successful completion of training programs

Monitor all support systems and controls to ensure the security and safety of the physical plant, company, guests and employees

Develop plans, make resources available and schedule required work to ensure areas of the hotel, casino and grounds are able to be utilized for their intended purpose

Coordinate and ensures accurate preparation and distribution of daily, weekly, monthly and annual preventive maintenance and job production

Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

3 years of previous experience required

Bachelor’s degree in plant operations management or related area highly preferred

Must have working knowledge in the maintenance and operations of boilers, HVAC equipment, electrical power distribution, power generation, emergency electrical systems and auxiliary equipment

Able to effectively display excellent leadership techniques, financial reporting/analysis, and cost benefit analysis

Must have excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex of documents, such as technical journals, building schematics/blueprints, financial reports and legal documents

Ability to maintain excellent working relations with Clark County, City of Las Vegas and other agencies as may be applicable

Ability to communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms

Able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays

Must have excellent computer skills (experience with Microsoft word, excel, and property management systems)

Must be at least 21 years of age

Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company

Verify right to work in the United States

Physical Requirements

Regularly walk, stand or stoop

Occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 50 pounds

Able to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, ramps and poles

Ability to use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity

Able to work for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail

Ability to distinguish between shades of color

Able to occasionally drive a motor vehicle

Ability to effectively communicate via radios

Work Environment Potential Conditions

Working indoors and/or outdoors in a noisy, smoky, dusty environment that is either hot or cold
