Bid Number: 410136 | Position: 1 | Salary: B17 $96,588.00 / year | Location: CDA Payroll, 8420 W. Bryn Mawr, Chicago | Days: Monday – Friday | Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Open to City employees in AFSCME § BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5.

Responsibilities

Direct staff engaged in the preparation and processing of departmental payrolls, employee paychecks, and attendance and overtime reports.

Ensure the accurate update and maintenance of payroll records and related documents.

Review, approve, and authorize payroll documents and apprise departmental managers of pertinent matters related to payroll and salary administration.

Advise managers and subordinate staff on payroll, time‑keeping procedures, and wage‑and‑salary requirements.

Direct the timely distribution of employee paychecks and act as a liaison between the department and other City departments to ensure the accurate and prompt processing of payrolls and related reports.

Assist in the design of data processing procedures to incorporate contractual changes in payroll documents.

Direct the collection of data for special payroll‑related projects (e.g., charity and bond deductions, optional insurance deductions, scholarship contributions, union dues deductions).

Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Five years of timekeeping and payroll administration experience, of which two years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Selection Requirements This position requires an interview.
