Job Description NY location preferred. MKTG Sports + Entertainment is looking for a Senior Copywriter, Creative Strategy to bring ideas to life at the intersection of sports, culture, and brand storytelling. The ideal candidate is equal parts creative thinker and strategic communicator – a writer who can craft bold narratives, distill complex insights, and shape campaigns that resonate across audiences and platforms.
Develop narratives, manifestos, taglines, messaging frameworks, and strategic concepts that evolve and scale across campaigns, channels, and touchpoints.
Author and define brand playbooks (voice, tone, creative applications) to ensure campaigns are clear, consistent, and scalable.
Contribute to new business pursuits with compelling storytelling, C-level presentations, and impactful pitch materials.
Collaborate with internal teams in brainstorms and concept development, providing imaginative, strategically grounded ideas.
Translate cultural trends that drive audience behavior and affect the way that brands communicate – always living at the intersection of sports, brands, culture, and creativity.
Develop thought leadership and audience insights to share with internal teams and publish to agency external marketing channels.
Create and own company quarterly trend report & client category specific trend reports.
Qualifications We are looking for candidates with 6+ years’ experience in copywriting, preferred with a mix of sports brands, agency and in‑house experience.
Relevant experience in sports, entertainment and/or lifestyle brands is strongly preferred.
Ability to write across tones — from bold and emotional to clear and instructional — and to turn complex ideas into clear, powerful and engaging copy.
Ability to synthesize data drawn from both quantitative and qualitative methods, and use both approaches to formulate hunches, validate hypotheses, and produce high quality, unique insights.
Exceptional analytical, communication (written and verbal), and presentation skills with ability to link insights to strategy and translate complex ideas into simple and intuitive communications.
Strong leadership skills and a history of partnering with senior clients to achieve business and marketing goals.
Able to fly at multiple altitudes, excelling at high-level conceptual strategy work and the nitty-gritty of strategic implementation.
Additional Information The anticipated base salary range for this position is $68,000 - $110,400. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
